Franchising, Real Estate and Construction

Restaurant ownership belongs to Boston Pizza franchisees from the start. After working through the application, approval and site selection process with a member of Boston Pizza’s franchising team, new franchisees collaborate alongside our real estate experts to secure financing and finalize leasing details.

From there franchisees are assigned a dedicated project manager who works tirelessly with contractors, architects and municipality to build the restaurant and to pass it along to operations.


Boston Pizza provides an extensive 6 to 8 week training program for new franchisees and their restaurant management team.

In-store staff training begins two weeks prior to opening with the arrival of four corporate trainers who teach Boston Pizza’s successful systems to staff and management. These trainers stay on to provide support for two week post-opening, at which point the restaurant is assigned a Field Services Manager for dedicated operational support.

The Field Services Manager ensures that our franchise team has everything they need to operate a profitable restaurant.


Boston Pizza’s marketing is recognized as best in class within the restaurant industry in Canada. The brand has national advertising media support 365 days a year, which include tactics such as TV commercials, social media advertisements, and digital media ads. The brand is also the official sports bar for Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Blue Jays, and Hockey Canada. Boston Pizza also has a partnership with the UFC which allows restaurants to receive the best PPV rates in Canada for UFC events. The marketing team also has regional marketing directors and marketing managers who help execute national campaigns at a location store level, as well as assist and execute regional and individual store marketing initiatives.

Boston Pizza believes that strong role models inspire kids to be great.

For over 25 years, guests have helped raise funds that support children and families, creating stronger and healthier communities across Canada. To date, the Boston Pizza Foundation has raised and donated over $27 million to charities in communities from coast to coast and around the world.

With the help of franchisees, Boston Pizza raises funds through the two national promotions, Valentine’s Day Paper Heart and Heart Shaped Pizza promotion and BP Kid’s Cards promotion. In addition, funds are raised through an annual charity golf tournament, the Boston Pizza Foundation Invitational.

Through Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects and partnering organizations, together everyone works to ensure kids have the opportunity to have a positive mentor or role model to help support, guide and empower them to become all that they can be.

Boston Pizza is proud to be partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, JDRF, Kids Help Phone, Live Different and the Rick Hansen Foundation who provide opportunities for children and youth right across Canada.
